Information Communication Technology Accessibility Plan

Mission:

At the Town of Parachute, we are unwavering in our commitment to fostering an inclusive digital environment where every individual, regardless of their abilities, has equal access to our content and services.

Introduction

Under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), local governments are prohibited from discriminating against individuals with disabilities in public accommodations. The Department of Justice (DOJ), which enforces the ADA, has interpreted these accommodations to include online technology. Additionally, Colorado House Bill 21-1110 mandates that local governments adhere to statewide accessibility standards by July 1, 2024.

The Town of Parachute is committed to ensuring that all users can access Town Information and Communication Technology (“ICT”) without barriers. To support this commitment, we have developed this Information & Communication Technology Accessibility Plan (the “Plan”) to identify and eliminate any obstacles to online accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

If you need assistance with a website function, please call 970-285-7630 Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and we will be ready to assist you.

Within 7 calendar days after receipt of the issue/request, a member of the city’s ADA Coordinator will contact the person initiating the issue/request to discuss the problem and the possible resolutions. Within 14 calendar days of the meeting, the ADA Coordinator will respond in a format accessible to the submitter. The response will offer options for a resolution. If the response by the accessibility committee does not satisfactorily resolve the issue/request, the submitter or their designee may submit a grievance through the grievance form.
