The Town of Parachute is considering asking voters to increase the Town sales tax rate 0.5% to help fund the Streets & Alley Fund and capital projects. The proposed new rate is broken down and shown in Exhibit 1. The proposed sales tax would not apply to things like groceries, fuel, residential utility bills, services, most medications, and long-term real estate leases.
