Parachute, Colo. - August 19, 2024 - At the regular meeting on August 15, 2024, the Town Council unanimously approved Ordinance No. 816-2024, which certified official ballot language to ask Parachute voters to increase the local sales and use tax rate by 0.5%. All of the new revenue generated from the increase would be restricted to the Streets & Alley Fund and capital projects for things like streets, sidewalks, infrastructure, construction of new trails, and parks. The ballot question will appear on this fall's ballot for registered voters who reside within the Town limits.
If approved by voters, the new rate will take effect in 2025. Election day is on November 5, 2024. Additional information can be found on the Town's webpage at www.parachute.gov, and the overall rate for the current sales tax and proposed increase is summarized in the table below.
